Dear David, dear bitor,

thank you both for your answers.
I very much like this device and I want to make it functional again.

I did not delete the partitions from the damaged disk. That is a different disk I am trying to hook.

Today is day 2.
I will collect the tools you suggested and try to get something out of the damaged disk ( it was a 40 GB from a refurbished 1100)

Up to now, I have the tools:
- snap server system v3.4 (snap_sys).sup (28 MB)
( from an upgrade I did some years ago, when it was functioning Ok )
- snap assist

I hope I will come back here with my success story... Otherwise, I will ask again for your guidance. Thanks a lot
