Re: New "old" problem
I have been given 4x separate 1000/1100's and not one of them boots, 2 units were from my Co's interstate sales offices, they work for 3-5 years and just give up the ghost without warning.
As a comparison, the 3x 2200 & 1x 2000 I have were faulty due to a dead drives with the one exception of 1x 2200 that could not be resurrected.
Not sure what everyone else thinks but I look at both units and I believe that it could be lack of Air Flow through the 1000/1100 is the reason why they do not seem to get the same longevity as other snaps like the 2000, 2200, 4000 & 4100?
I just don't see how the 1000/1100 can manage to get the same amount of Airflow through itself as the 2000/2200 can.
If I did have a working 1000/1100 I would take it apart and drill a bunch of holes through the front end of it & stick (with that special Heat-transfer-Glue) a decent heat sync on each of the exposed chips.
Not expecting to see one anytime soon over the last few years I have seen 4x 2200's on our local ebay and only 1x 1100...
