I got my hands on a copy of Spinrite v6 and I ran it on all four drives. I picked level 4. It took about 7 hours.
You're right, the drives are ~30GB. I just checked the cache memory, 64MB!
Disk Status says "Checking 5% Complete" and it stays there for a long time.
