Hi Guys
Been reading the Forum for a bit while deciding what to do about improving the network storage here after a couple of near death experiences.
I bought a Snap 210 for a good price on ebay and should have stopped at that but on the same day there was a 4200 with 4x80GB that I put a low bid in for and got for $35.
I guess I should have known there would be a problem and it turned out all the drives had been wiped. So what to do?
Well I decided to "borrow" the OS from the 210. Anyway afer a lot of messing about, these systems are new to me, failing to make images that worked I got everything up and running.
So just thought I would share something that helped me along the way. I suspect not a new idea but might be useful for others.
An IDE to SD converter, about $4 on ebay.
Put in a 2GB SD card and away you go.
A very quick and easy way to "move around" your operating system. Much easier than images, much smaller than hard discs.
