It isn't just a post process type of test. It deals with inspection and control of the entire processing facility. Usually class VI stuff is made in a clean room environment as well. That having been said, a lower grade may be less expensive and just about as clear, don't know. Find a company that actually manufactures medical grade silicon tubing and see what else they make
