well I know I dont want to have 3 pounds of copper suspended on a itty bitty set of bolts. that would be insain, I would recomend planning on making holes the same size as the holes in the mother board. That way U can use a little heavier bolt. Plus very thin long bolts and nuts can somewhat be hard to find.

maybe if you angled the channels a bit to create more material in those 4 locations ( In some of the designs 2 locations) that way you would get the best of both worlds. But utter then that...... They are worth a shot Brad.

U are obsessed with having a bunch of tubing running to your chip aint U?
