After mounting both fans directly to the BIX. I used electrical tape to seal around the edges. This provided me with a nice seal between the fan and BIX. So all the air that is moved does pass through the BIX.

A future mod for me will be to offset the sucking fan about 1/2" or more just to see if I can improve airflow through the center of the BIX. But I only see that as maybe a degree or two improvement at the most. Still it's more modding fun. The shroud could be easily made with thin metal or plexiglass from Lowes.
