well you are pricing thin tubing to thick tubing.

the cost of 1/16" wall tubing is $1-1.5 a foot
but 1/8" wall tubing is almost $3 per foot if you buy 50 feet.

sooo.... 1/8" wall silicone is about the same price as 1/16" tygon.
