I saw in the articles that many people need lots of discs in order to make holes.
I used to be one of those till I found out following:
Instead of fixing one disc to the tool, put on two of them. You slightly increase the width of the cut but you will never break a disk again.
Unfortunately I haven't found a way to prevent the wearing of the discs
