While it is definitely cool to say "Oh look at me I built this mofo all by myself" and yadda yadda yadda. There is something to be said for a Vapochill. If i think of all the H2O cooling parts I've spent money on, well... it probably pushes over that $700 mark significantly. And unless CPUs somehow switch back to slots (which I doubt they will), all you will ever have to spend money on in the future are different gaskets for the various CPUs. I think it is a good investment, just out of my budget.

And as far as the insulation issue, it is much harder to insulate peltier based systems. The Vapochill comes with a small pad that fits around the outer edge of the CPU. It is a heating pad. It actually generates heat. It doesn't affect CPU temps as it is on the outer edge, but it makes sure that the outer edges of the CPU gasket don't get cold enough to have condensation. I've always wanted to buy just one of those for my watercooling endeavors...
