Wow, so much venom. I can't find the comment on performance so maybe that is not accurate. The impellor spindle on the Eheims runs in a ceramic bearing that is lubricated by the water being pumped, that is why they have to be primed before use - so the bearing surface gets some lubricant.

I haven't done any testing on differences in heat added to water between inline and submerged configuration. You quote 80%, would you care to present your test setup and measurments taken to validate this? Or is it bs?
