DC wont shock you, it will just burn you. When you get shocked, you are feeling the switch from + to - of the ac power source... To clarify, go shock yourself on a plugin, notice you feel a pulse (at 60hz) surging into you... that is the switch of + and -.

And yes... I have burnt myself with 38vDC at 15 amps... its a tingly feeling... till it starts to burn...
