Another thing, you did install the fittings on the Eheim snug; right?

I see you used wax on part of the Ehiem, on the suction end.
Was that around the around the clamping ring? (I wish Eheim would have named the parts that create the group called "pump parts" so we could communicate them better in a case like this". Square heads in Germany.

Anyway, I didn't require any type of sealant material on my pump, all the "O" rings do their job. I have not heard anyone having to seal these area either. I hope the wax didn't bind and cause a gap in the clamping ring or the next part (name?) in line moving inward.
