I'm cooling an Athlon XP with a Rio pump right now. That thing is probably flowing 25gph after the highly restrictive Black Ice classic radiator. Actually, 25gph would be on the high side of my estimate. Anyways, it works just fine. Really, I don't think it will hurt anything if your flowing 200gph instead of 300gph..
I remember when I did the big move from 3/8" tubing to 1/2" tubing on TheRock. I did everything, high flowing Maze1C, heatercore instead of cooling cube, no elbows instead of 10. My flow rate went up about 400%, judging by the looks of things. I didn't even have to change the pump, just clearing up the restrictions did that. But ya know what, even with the 400% flow increase, and the theoretical higher cooling capacity of a heater core, my temps didn't drop one single degree.
