Haddy, when I read the article, that pic confused me on why the author crossed this setup compared to the one below. Then I finally realized the input and output of the air-trap were right next to each other, which he just said is a no-no. So having the air-trap at the top is fine as long you give enough room (time) for the bubbles to actually go up instead of forcing it through the intake, which would destroy the purpose of the air-trap, aka don't have a direct path from the intake to outake :-).
