You may be right, but it depends on the frequency of the signal you're trying to block.

In this case, a 60 Hz signal (now that I think about it!), so no, I don't believe that copper would be very effective.

A steel enclosure would probably work, as long as it's wrapped tight.

So now, what's so special about the Eheim? Does anyone know how they're shielded? Is it just the design of the coils?
