Default Want to lower temps 2-3C??? Read on.

I have a 1250, maze3, PVC res, 1/2" hose throughout w/ 5/8" fittings on most stuff, and a bigass econoline HC. I had it all stuffed into my Inwin Q500 and was using a 24v 172mm comair for the rad. Temps were 33-34C idle. oh... Athlon 1333-C, not OC'd at the moment. My big PSU died, and I don't thouroughly trust this little 250watt backup.

A couple days ago, I put all this stuff into a cardboard box, along w/ a ~1.5 liter resevoir. I placed the box about 5 feet from my PC, in the corner under a desk, and used some 5/8" ID vinyl for that long reach, and then reduced it to 1/2" a couple of feet before the maze3 inside case. This of course destroyed my flow rates (I checked), but magically, my temps are 31-32C idle, and 35-36C max when running F@H.
*Note: I ditched the 172mm tornado and am now using two 120mm 24v Papst 4314's @ 12v. I've got them sucking air out of the top of this big box, and the radiator is inside the box, installed on a side wall of the box. It's now MUCH quieter, and I can remove the mobo tray w/ the maze3 still installed. All WC components can be removed from system w/o dismantling anything. There's a lot less clutter inside the case. Also, all of the heat from the rad is outside the case, and the air cooling it is totally ambient temp.
I'm going to get a P4 1.6A, so we'll see what it can do pretty soon.
