There will be heat transferred to your water from the pump, believe it (it's true for everybody). In this case, the heat comes from the motor's coils, and is transmitted through the motor shaft, and possible the motor housing too.
In an Eheim, the coils heat up too, and the heat is transmitted right through the housing, which happens to sit right in the middle of all the coils. There is not a lot of room to isolate this, because the further away the coils are from the impeller, the less efficient the pump becomes. Usually, it's just 3-5 mm plastic.
If I was you, I'd leave your pump just the way it is. Don't try to mod it, don't try to isolate the housing from the motor (you might throw off the alignment).

Ya I wouldnt even attempt moding my pump.
Regardless, I see no change in the water's temp.
And Im still thinking aobut the box, I dont know what materials to use.
I think Ill have it be wood on outside, then foams and sound surpressing material on the inside.
