In an Eheim, the coils heat up too, and the heat is transmitted right through the housing, which happens to sit right in the middle of all the coils. If I was you, I'd leave your pump just the way it is. Don't try to mod it, don't try to isolate the housing from the motor (you might throw off the alignment).

Ya I wouldnt even attempt moding my pump.

Regardless, I see no change in the water's temp.

And Im still thinking aobut the box, I dont know what materials to use.

I think Ill have it be wood on outside, then foams and sound surpressing material on the inside.
