Yeah in Europe we got Guinard pumps and Germans have some other brands as well. But the least of these pumps cost about 10x the price of a Eheim... Not to mention the bulky size. I was just generally speaking about pumps that can fit in a watercooled mid-tower without sucking your bank account dry...

[edit] Ak i just remembered. If you go the expensive & bulky way so forget about your teeny feeble so-called pumps. Here are what true warriors use:
CTi Cryogenics
Yep they mostly make vacuum pumps. But take a look at those He compressors used to freeze em to 2K (thats about -271°C)... Superconductivity anyone ? (ok ok you have to pay about $10000 for the compressor and add to that He supply lines)
