Isopropyl alcohol is a bit less toxic and much less volatile than methanol. Also, it acts as a wetting agent considerably reducing the surface tension even in a 5% solution. Anybody knows if it works ok as biocide at 5%? Or 10%? Its viscosity is relatively high so higher concentrations probably should not be recommended.

And it is still very poisonous to drink.
