1040 = 1048?
Assuming the 1040 is a 1048 pump, here's the raw data on them.
Pump-------------Pumping Rate------------------Pressure---------Power-------Inlet------------------Outlet--------------------Deminsions
Eheim 1048----158 Gal/hr (600L/hr)-----4' 11" (1.5M)--------10 W---------1/2" (13mm)---------1/2" (13mm)---------5.8" x 3" x 4.7" (147 x 75 x 118)
Eheim 1250-----317 Gal/hr (1200L/hr)----6' 7" (2M)----------28 W---------3/4" (17mm)----------1/2" (13mm)--------7.1" x 3.8" x 4.7" (180 x 95 x 120)
They're not supposed to make much heat, but the shear size difference in the 1250 vs the 1048 may effect your placement of the items in your case. The 1048 is good for 1/2" in and out. The pressure is a lot more in the 1250, though if you're necking down to 3/8" (which the Innovatek's are) I'm not sure how well that'll do. If it was me, I'd go with the 1048 (smaller, quieter) and 1/2" fittings and tubing all around.
I'd love to hear the results on either setup though!
