No problem having them go on at the same time. In fact I'd recommend it. That way you don't have to worry about forgetting to switch on the pump. A dead CPU is a bad thing.

As in compression fittings? Do a search for "swaged" for more info. Actually I'd really like to do this in my system but they are somewhat hard to get and expensive.
