Well, you have to be a little inventive to make the mounts for steppers depends on your machine, but building itself shouldn't be too hard, check my mill thread tommorow when I'll post acad drawing of how I'm thinking of making them.
As forholding torque for steppers, depends how good your spindels are if they run nicely the ones like mine (252oz/inch) should be more than enough, you could measure the torque on wheels yourself with weights on simetric bar, to see how certain torque move the table.

But FARMER was also right, first get use to the machine with some classic milling to learn how materials react to certain cutting speed, moving speed and cutting depth.
