Thought i would throw this into the mix.....
I run:
2x Netgear 24port 10/100 switches
2x Netgear 16 port Switches
1x Linksys Router
1x Speedstream DSL 1.5/1.5 dsl connection

Each room in the main house has 1x network port. ( approx 24 ports total)
My house has 40 ports for lans (2 story, and basement)
All in house ran to a 20 space rack, with 48 port patch pannels.
Same in my house~

Theres atleast 4000ft cat 5 cable in the houses...... I did all of it.... what a bitch.....
