Default HSF Testing

Well another ProCooling quality review is being started. KDComputers has basically offered to supply the fans/HSFs we would need to do this test, and last night we left with a box full of goodies. Here is a pic of the loot:

The exact testing methodology is still being planned out, its taking many of the comments from other threads and worklogs and putting them to use in this test setup. Even though its not optimal the heat source will be a P4, The temp reading hardware is still being planned out. On top of temp reading hardware there is going to be a big focus on air pressure and movement in the review since it will look at mating the best fans for the certain HSF's at different speeds and noise levels.

No [H]ype here, just facts and numbers. I am waiting on a Mobo to get here and to purchase the rest of the testing gear. The review should be up before the end of 2011 I figure hehehehe j/k It will be up when its done, just keep looking here for updates and such. When this review is done, I then am going to be setup to do incremental HSF test's and analysis on a per HSF basis instead of needing to wait to have a big batch.

And to you watercooling zealots who will email me giving me shit for doing air cooling stuff... : While you may see Air Cooling as being irrelevant to a site named ProCooling, I see it as being even more Pro if you can make a 50$ HSF/Fan setup run quiet and almost as good as a watercooled setup hehehe Quality Cooling is the focus of the site and this review specifically, not just water, not just air, and not just phase change.
