What is wrong with your 80?
Maxtor did experament with combining the quantum and maxtor disk technologies, but they have reverted now (at least, that's what I've heard).
But, then again, my friend built a system (with a little help
) with a Quantum/Maxtor 40 gig drive, and hasn't had a problem since.
However, I did have problems with my WD 6.4 Gig Caviar drive (RMAed 3 times), the same drive that won multiple awards that same year (Computer Shoper was one of them, I'm prety sure). I have had people calling my crazy for not buying and WD drives since, but I had that one problem, and I won't do that one again...
