I would go for the SCSI route, but it is so expencive

490 for the drive (maxtor 73.3), and 150 for the adapter/controller (adaptic)!

I could buy alot of extra IDE drives for my onboard RAID controller for that much

I do have to admit, though, they are very fast drives, it is on my wish list of stuff I'd buy if Bill Gates happend to die and leave me all (ok, I'll settle for half) his money...
