I have an Eheim 1048 and had a leak right where your talking about. Go to Home depot, or the like, and ask for "teflon tape". If you don't know what it is it's a thin white (non sticky) tape to go on threads to stop water, gas from leaking through the threads. If you do know what it is ignore the last part.
its not the compression fitting i took that off , its the one small nut thats right ontop of the pump body and at the bottom of the outlet , further inspection determined that it was what slealed the outlet barbs into the pump , i think it came loose just from the hose pulling on it. If i take it out im going to take the stock barbs off and stick some poly 1/2 in there.
