I have run alot of aquarium's since I was seven. My brother has run alot more then me. I learned from my brother that Ehiem is the most reliable brand in fish supplies. There water pumps are no exception. When you have 2k or more in fish swimming around in a tank you can't hace it fail. I have been using a 1046 Ehiem for over a year with no problems. I've even dropped it on the concrete moving it from lan to lan. (I keep my setup outside my case except for the block) With all this there has been no leaks or problems. I just bought a danner model 7. (700gph) I took it apart to eliminate the rattle from the impellar. When I was putting the housing back on it cracked. Etiehr i'm superman and hand tight doesn't apply to me or they are poorly made. If I had the money I would buy another Ehiem but until then its epoxy. BTW you get you moneys worth with Ehiem.
