I just started making my own blocks this past week, and I was wondering how can I tell if the copper I am working with is 100% copper, or even 90% copper?
My dad who owns his own machine shop told me that most of the time you will run into copper that is 30% bronze which is not what I want.
Is there any way of just looking at the blocks that I have that could tell if I do in fact have what I paid for.
My dad who built my first block to kind of show me what to do and not to do said that the material machined like copper but he didnt say if it was in fact a bronze alloy.
edit : it would be good to add that I ordered cu 110 ... which should be 99% cu correct?
I however am a noob to machining and metals and my dad refuses to assist me because Ive only shown interest in his business when it has something to do with cooling
