I saw an interesting one way valve made out of a rubber/silicone 'tube' that is squashed flat at the end by default, when no flow is opening it up. it should be very soft hence non restrictive!. it's abit like how oldfashioned bicycle innertube valves worked is'nt it?...

hea that sounds like a good idea (the tube valve) seen a similar setup with one way valves for the air lines in fish tank air pumps (so the water won't syphon back down to the pump incase of power failure)
