I dont think the benchmark itself is the issue. They used difft mobos, and they obviously o/ced the video card more with the 3.06 than in earlier CPUs. That could either be intentional or accidental. I don't go to their site, so I haven't dug through the old reviews to see if maybe Kyle did some of them and Steve did others.
The issue to me is that they banned many users for pointing out the changed image. Called them liars and photo doctorers (when in fact THEY were doing this). Banned and continue to ban anyone that even asks questions. Now they contend that this was a little forum squabble by people who were jealous of H|OCP and trying to gain members to their forums.
This is nothing new guys. They did the same sort of mass banning with the Trollhunters and Heatware (ya H|OCP cares so much about their community that they banned the people who track down bad traders), with Procooling several times, and now with all of the extreme Intel overclockers. Finally a few larger sites are starting to notice.
I think that JCViggen and the Xtremesystems guys have really acted in a professional and mature manner over this, and I have a lot of respect for those guys. Also kudos to overclockers.com and now to inquirer.net for reporting this behavior.
