If you want to thrash some duallie action, you may want to wait just a few months and invest in a Hammer platform. Unlike the "workaround" MP methods used by Intel and AMD on their desktop systems (face it, the MP chips are just hacked XPs and not optimized), these are designed for some serious multiprocessing work. Just a thought. It'll be more expensive, but there will be tremendous benefits. PCI-X, AGP3.0, Hypertransport, it's all getting thrown into the Hammer mix, not to mention the fact that each processor gets it's own RAM banks.
