Default a few Q's on making a good W/B

i ran some milling tests today and i got some wicked results

it was like cutting through butter with a HOT knife, around 3000RPM

now what size channel should i mill, i was thinking 3/8, but would 1/2 be better?

the raw copper is about 5.9mm wide and 2.9 thick, so would it be safer to mill it 3/8 or could go 1/2?
