hmm TSOP packages are still easy to solder, just get some thin solder, a thin iron (not too hot), and go for it, you got nothing to loose
don't keep the soldering iron on the same place too long though, chip might overheat, although that wouldn't be a problem with a heatsink on it. Also, maybe get an anti-static soldering iron, just to reduce the chance of zapping it
