Any idea how accurate that 40W number for the 9700 Pro is?

I have no real Idea. I was over looking at the Swifttech
MCW50T and look at the graph in the Operating Range (click picture to enlarge): section. They claim the 32 ~ 38C as the "average thermal load" for high end video cards. So with a little OC, the radeon will probably 40C or maybe a bit higher

The 172 Watt TEC running at 12V will give you a few more degrees C of cooling and draw less current. (About 6.7 Amps.)

You are indeed correct. I have been playing with the Kryotherm software and a spreadsheet I downloaded (do not know who the author is). Both support what you are saying. There... 172w it will be! thanks!

So you mean that my loop 2 should be ...
2. Res -> Pump -> Spliter -> BIX1 -> Joiner -> DD GF4 -> Res
..................................... \ -> BIX2 -> /
If I attach a 172w@12V TEC to the GPU, then my heat load becomes 100w. This higher that a regular CPU. Would I not miss that flow? Is this suggestion based on fact or a gut feeling that this might be better.
SO, for my proposed setup...
172w@12v would generate 100w of heat (used spreadsheet)
226w@12v would generate 314w of heat (used spreadsheet)
Total would be 414w. Can my current water system handle that load, I wonder?
P.S. The Kryotherm shows more heat generated for the 172w@12V to 119.07???? That is a 20% difference!
