Keep it and use it as a backup system for your notebook you mentioned you wanted. You'll appreciate having a desktop as well as a notebook, since it is hard to work on a notebook for extended projects in your schooling (damn cramped uncomfy keyboards and eye-strain generating LCD screens combined with lower performance on average).
