NEW here! Help with SNAP server!!!

Hi guys,

I'm in a bit of a bind here... I read with great interest the article that Joe wrote quite a while ago here about upgrading the drive space in a cheap, low-end Snap Server (from Quantum). The URL for that article is:

http://www.procooling.com/articles/h...oe___10_.shtml

Anyway, I happened across a cheap Server and bought it (the 15GB version) and that was no where near enough space to act as an MP3 server. I followed the instructions, opened it up and decided to put in a pair of 40GB IBM Deskstar drives to give me 80GB of music goodness!

Sure enough the Snap server recognized the new drives, 'formatted them' and I was expecting to see about 80GB of space for music storage. The PROBLEM is, the embedded OS only recognized the drives as 6.3GB drives each (formatted with FAT, not FAT32) and now I have even less space than before!

How do you get these drives recognized as full 40GB drives and not as tiny 6GB drives??? I'm really stuck here.

Thanks for any and all posts and emails about this..

Thanks.
