Yeah i was more thinking in the lines of a Eheim 1250 or equivalent. I have a Hydor L30 II (1250 look-a-like), 3 waterblocks, and a heatercore. The flow is excellent.

Beware of alu+copper mix... you'll have to put water wetter or any other additive to protect your blocks.

Ah parallel vs series.. This is a FAQ. Try a search in the forums... in short, there's no definitive answer, concerning waterblocks.
More flow is always better so series would win, but series add more restriction and reduce overall flow... Parallel reduce flow in each block but adds less restriction to the circuit.
Go with what is easier for you -> go for shorter tubing lengths and less elbows / fittings.
