If 1/2" blocks are more expensive (no reason why they should be) buy the 3/8" version and buy some 1/2"x1/4" NPT barbs at a local hardware store. Even if they ARE the nylon ones

. For a passive cooling system, you might want to put a zalman passive heatsink on the northbridge. The heat would be enough for that heatsink to handle, but in the water loop would probably be enough to raise temps.
