After a bit of poking round my HC, it turns out to be aluminum with brass cap ends

I'm tempted to cut up the HC and make my own Cu tubing between the endcaps, has anyone done this before???? (recomendations anyone?)

And seen as this Xmas proved to be as boring as the last, I did a bit of lapping
