I have been looking into getting Swiftech MCW5000 and MCW50 blocks and the MCP300 pump. They all use quick-connects that accept 1/2" OD tubing, which would only be like 3/8" ID if the tubing had 1/16" walls right? That seems like it wouldn't provide very good flow, so I looked at getting the optional barbs but they aren't any bigger, and the internal metal inlet on the block is only 3/8" diameter anyway (Swiftech told me), so anything bigger than 3/8" tubing would be useless anyway.
I thought 1/2" ID was kind of like the "new thing" everyone was using, but I haven't seen any blocks that have true 1/2" ID barbs or waterways in them that would be non-restrictive to 1/2" ID tubing, especially on GPU blocks.
In my setup I want to use a CPU and GPU block but if I can't find any blocks with 1/2" ID then I guess I'll have to go with the small ass 3/8" ID tubing.
Can someone tell me if going from 3/8" ID to 1/2" ID will really actually help anyway? I mean even if it's only a couple degrees better it would seem worthwhile since I'm trying to get as much as I possibly can out of watercooling.
