Alternative Cooling Method Advice Needed
OK - need some serious advice from the gurus of extreme cooling.
My current system is a basic dangerden 2-2 waterblock(not using the attachable cold-plate cause I've not decided on peltiers yet), 1/2" hoses, a reservoir, a small cube radiator and although it's adequate in keeping my Palomino 1600+ XP @ 1.75ghz/1.85v, I want have a much better cooling system that would be able to get me MUCH lower cpu core temps under load.
I was thinking about maybe getting into phase-change cooling akin to the Prometeia cooling system, or for a cheaper cost - a dual TEC solution. Would that give me better cooling?
This is what I'm planning to do in the next 2 months:
For the Dual TEC setup:
Dangerden Maze2-2 waterblock with 1/2" barbs
Dual 174watt Peltier @ 18v
Two 24v power supplies powering the TECs
Danner Model 5 Pump
Lytron 6340 Heatercore *HUGE*
1/2" tubing all around
Due to the size of the Lytron Heatercore, would passive cooling work with this heatercore, or would I need to attach a few fans to the heatercore for efficient cooling. It really is HUGE....
What kind of temps will I get with this setup on a Palomino 2100+ @ > 2ghz, @ ~2.0v Vcore?
Should I instead opt for the prometeia cooling system. Will that provide me with superior cooling power? I mean, the dual TECs can dissipate over 350watts of heat, so should that not be enough to keep a 2ghz Palomino at sub-zero temps, and should that not provide me with better results than the prometeia system?
Thanks for all the help guys.
