Lookup "explosion proof" plug and outlet: if I remember correctly, they are airtight (but expensive). Good point Dave.

Here's a stupid question: how would you fill it up? I mean, how do you evacuate the existing humidity?

I like the dessicant idea, but how do you maintain it?
