I'm sitting here with 12 feet of tygon I just got and some clearflex.

It's the 1/2" ID r-3603 Tygon

and just std. 1/2" ID Clearflex.

The clearflex is slightly blue tinted, the tygon is not. The Tygon is softer and easier to form, but a whole lot easier to kink. The clearflex is virtually impossible to kink as it's hard. I think it really depends.

The softness of the Tygon means it will put less pressure on barbs and all that. But you have to be more careful about kinking. Take your pick.
