You could get 5/8" ID Silicon hose and stretch them over those existing barbs. Or you can cut them off at the tank, buy some 3/4" female NPT by 3/4" Copper pipe adapters, and solder those suckers on the tank. You will have to measure the OD of the copper pipe section of the Adapter and make the hole in the tank the same size. With this setup, you can use whatever hose adapter you want, as long as the threaded section is male 3/4" NPT.
