The swiftech blocks contain large amounts of anodized aluminum. These coatings have been known to come off and wear over time allowing for internal corrosion. I would recommend an anticorrosion chemical as well as a biocide to keep your system clean. Hyperlube is a very nice additive since it will not stain your tubing and prevents corrosion extremely well. Adding some commercial non-chlorine non-bromine hot tub sanitizer in small amounts will also help in preventing algae buildup.
