no - no...

That's too thick, you cannot reach the bottom of the pits with dremel disc.
I even had some problems goin' 8 mm deep into one chunk of 10 mm thickness (gotta use several new, whole discs).

10 mm is good and doable, and anything thicker than 5 mm is good (including 5mm thickness!)

[dannzig]: try to look at the machine shops if they have any scrap pieces, thick ones are (here) harder to find, but 5 mm is pretty usual. Find a drill press, and you're almost set.

It's really worth the effort.
