Most likely a case of a screen magnetized to the point where the monitor's built in degausing couldn't take care of it.

Any TV repair place is likely to have a degaussing coil that can easily fix this.

Sliding an empty 'tin' (actually steel) can over the pump, will usually decrease the magnetic interference with the monitor greatly.
