I have been using some DIY solutions for years:

If the system has an in socket thermistor then bend it down as close to the motherboard's PCB as possible, CPU temps typically lower 3-5C within minutes, and MORE under load!

You can always just add an offset to motherboard monitor. I have one box that I get peltier-type performance out of with air cooling! I also base my recommendations of the Ice Probe system on a similar method
